Cancer Navigator Hub: new service for patients on suspected cancer pathways

The Cancer Navigator Hub launched by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust builds on the existing navigator service, extending support earlier in the pathway so patients can access help from the point they are referred with suspected cancer. The service includes extended opening hours, access to diagnostic nurse specialists for clinically informed support before diagnosis, and links with our partners at Maggie’s, who offer psychological and emotional support.

For patients and practices, this means:

·         Patients have a clear way to get answers about what happens next

·         Reduced uncertainty at an early stage in the pathway

·         Fewer follow-up queries to GP practices as patients can access support directly

·         A clear route for practices to signpost patients or raise queries where helpful.
