Complementary Therapy Services

Complementary Therapists

The practice offers additional services including Osteopathy, massage therapy, homeopathy, acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Suitability is assessed by the appropriate therapist following a GP referral.

More information about these approaches is available on request.

Herbal Medicine

"The herbal medicine service has been up and running at MHC for over two years now and continues to provide a useful avenue of treatment for patients who would like to explore another approach to maintaining good health.

Patients are referred by their GP or through the nursing team and may book in to discuss most health issues that they would normally talk about with their GP. We offer an integrated service, so your GP or nurse will see all medical records taken by the herbal medic and vice versa. Patients may also self-refer through MHC reception.

The most popular area for referral continues to be gastrointestinal, where a number of cases are seen each week with a wide range of complaints such as IBS, bloating, reflux, indigestion, constipation and abdominal discomfort. Treatment for these problems enjoys a good rate of success and we can help to resolve issues that have been present for many years. At your consultation, we will consider your general health as well as exploring dietary and lifestyle factors in order to treat not just the presenting complaint but also you as a person."
